Once again the weather took control of the Norwich and District Sunday League fixtures with the frost meaning only seven games were played.

Credit to the teams playing in the those games for not calling off too early and allowing an extra 15 minutes for the pitches to thaw a little, all deciding to kick off at 10.45am.

Division One promotion-chasers Hewett Old Boys and Longdale Rovers played out a 0-0 draw, something of a rarity in Sunday League football.

The results sees Longdale remain in third place in the table, with Hewett moving up to fourth.

Windmill picked up their second win in successive games with a comfortable 7-3 victory over bottom-placed club Norman Wanderers Reserves.

In Division Two, Drayton Dazzlers had the chance to go top of the table when they came up against Vale Longo.

A close first half saw Dazzlers take the lead and they should have extended that, but a fine penalty save by Jim Witard kept Vale in the game.

Drayton were the better side in the second half, and even though Vale had chances, they had no answer to the slick passing moves that resulted in Drayton scoring twice more to run out 3-0 winners.

AFC Norwich were big winners in Division Four, James Wheeler scoring four of the 12 goals they scored without reply against Woodton United.

AFC continue to lead the way at the top of the league and have now opened up an eight-point gap between them and second-placed FC Viking.

In the Under 19s division there were three games went ahead, despite the conditions.

Top of the table Old Catton hosted St Andrews and it was the away team who came away with the three points. Joshua McCarthy scored twice with the others coming from Billy Wright and Jake Jackson as they won 4-1.

Hellesdon moved above their opponents Hethersett into seventh position after 4-0 win, with goals from Matt Storey (2), Max Ingrey and Rob Howard and Cringleford won by the odd goal in five at Mulbarton Wanderers thanks to goals from Harry Browne, Joe Dickinson and Jay Tozer.

In the County Senior Cup, Riverside Rovers bowed out of the competition as they went down 4-1 at King's Lynn side Chilvers.
