Relegated Premier League outfit Stoke City want to sign Angus Gunn on loan next season – but there may be better offers on the table for Norwich City's number one.
With Paul Lambert's Potters expecting England goalkeeper Jack Butland to depart following their drop into the Championship, Gunn is high on Stoke's wish list – if not top – having excelled in the second tier at the Canaries in a season's loan from Manchester City.
In fact, Gunn came third in City's player of the season voting last term behind Grant Hanley and clear winner, James Maddison – and the Canaries have been open in wishing Gunn would continue his development at his hometown club next season.
However both Stoke and Norwich may find themselves down the list, as Manchester City plot what they will feel is the best development route for their highly-rated England Under-21 international.

And that list is believed to include the option of a season in the Premier League at Watford, where Heurelho Gomes and on-loan Udinese stopper Orestis Karnezis shared number one duties last season.
The Premier League champions are understood to want a relatively swift decision on where Gunn will play next season, similar to last summer where Norwich completed their loan switch at the start of June.
With Gunn a City ever-present in the Championship last season, the runaway Premier League champions will also hope for a similarly productive campaign wherever Gunn ends up.
Likewise the Canaries will no doubt want to know where they stand as early as possible, as they search for their number one replacement.
That list may well be headed by another highly-rated academy product in Remi Matthews, who returns after spending the majority of last season impressing at League One Plymouth.
The 24-year-old will lead City's goalkeeping cause for next season, although the Canaries will almost certainly be on the lookout for fresh glovesmen – especially if Northern Ireland international Michael McGovern opts to cut short his City stay by 12 months in search of first-team football.
