Alex Pritchard insists the Canaries' can still force their way into the Championship promotion picture.

Pritchard was again one of the bright spots in another poor showing on the road at Aston Villa on Saturday that leaves City seven points adrift of the play-offs, ahead of Wednesday's trip to rivals Huddersfield Town.

The former Tottenham starlet, however, is refusing to give up hope of a late upturn in fortunes.

'A lot of things can happen in this league but time is ticking,' he told the club's official site. 'We can win big games like that. We haven't done it this season and we've got ourselves to blame but we have to get on with it and go again.

'With the squad we've got, we can go and win every game. We can't look for excuses anymore. It doesn't matter what we say, we have to show it now.

'We've got to go there and disappoint them by doing what they did to us at home. If we do what we did at Aston Villa but take our chances you know what's going to happen.

'I've been waiting a long time (to play) and it's been a stop-start season for me. That's not what I want but at the moment I'm playing games. You grow in confidence when that's the case and just want to get on the ball and make things happen. At Aston Villa you could see I'm getting into a groove. My fitness is up and hopefully I can kick on to where I should be at.'
