Norwich City defender Ryan Bennett did his best to prevent their 1-0 defeat at Stoke last Saturday, making 18 interceptions, the joint highest in the last round of Premier League games.

According to the EA Sports Player Performance Index, Bennett has now made 36 interceptions this season, part of 65 defensive contributions overall including tackles won, interceptions, blocks and clearances. Those stats are impressive considering Bennett has played just 862 minutes this season, averaging a defensive intervention every 13 minutes, 16 seconds.

Norwich are one of three teams in the Player Performance Index to have two players who have attempted 100 or more tackles this season. Both Robert Snodgrass (123 attempted, 56 per cent won) and Bradley Johnson (112 attempted 52.6 per cent won) feature on the list.

Sébastien Bassong, meanwhile, has now overtaken West Bromwich Albion's Jonas Olsson as the player to have made the most clearances this season, with 82 compared to Olsson's 80

Christian Benteke's hat-trick in Aston Villa's 6-1 win over Sunderland took his Premier League goal tally for the season to 18, fourth in the race for top scorer. Benteke's goals have come at a rate of one every 5.67 shots, and one every 158 minutes, 43 seconds. Benteke also has the best shots on target percentage of the league's top 10 goalscorers, getting 69.8 per cent of his 102 shots on target.
