James Maddison stole the show once again for Norwich City but his match-winning moment at Brentford came as no surprise to his team-mates.
Southampton loanee Harrison Reed – admirably covering for injured skipper Ivo Pinto at right wing-back, on his 23rd birthday – knows full well what the talented playmaker is capable of.
'What a special player,' Reed said with a broad smile. 'To do that after four or five minutes, special, to put it through his legs and then find the far corner, that's what he's got.
'He shows it every day in training and he's showed it in pretty much every game of this season.'
The spectacular 25-yard strike was Maddison's ninth goal of the season, as well as the fourth winner in a 1-0 victory away from home, so it comes as little surprise that the England Under-21 international is being linked with a host of Premier League clubs.
'I think he's attracted all kinds of interest but hopefully as a club we can keep him and push on after January,' Reed added.
'He's very hard-working, he knows he's a good player, he knows he's got talent but he also works hard for the team and in training he's always defending well and then when he gets the ball, he's brilliant.'

While all City fans will be hoping the Coventry City academy product is not snapped up by one of the big boys ahead of Wednesday's 11pm transfer deadline, there were some new arrivals at Griffin Park.
Former Borussia Dormund and Lazio midfielder Moritz Leitner was the only debutant, replacing Josh Murphy in the 79th minute, with Onel Hernandez and Dennis Srbeny staying on the bench – and Reed is looking forward to seeing what they bring to the party.
'We've had one session with them,' he continued. 'They came in and had their medicals and stuff so we met them then and then trained with them on Friday.
'They're all looking well, showed what they can do on the training ground and hopefully they can improve our season and show what they can do on the pitch.'

All in all it made for a very happy 23rd birthday for Reed though, adding with another big smile: 'Coming into the game I thought three points was the best present and we got that!'
