Shrewsbury manager Paul Simpson yesterday refused to confirm he is interested in signing Norwich City striker Jamie Cureton.
The 34-year-old was strongly linked with a switch to the New Meadow earlier this week but Simpson hinted his play-off chasing League Two side are in advanced talks with a potential loan recruit.
'There's one thing we've got on the go that's a little bit complicated,' Simpson told BBC Radio Shropshire. 'We're waiting to see if we can do something there. There are always rumours, but I'm not going to get drawn into talking about who they might be. There have been many calls put into clubs, players and agents. When there's something to report I'll tell you.'
Cureton has played just eight times for Norwich this season and City chief Paul Lambert admitted the veteran is well down the pecking order.
