Crystal Palace frontman Dwight Gayle is the latest frontman linked with Norwich City as Alex Neil looks to bolster his strike options for the Premier League season.

City reportedly pulled out of a deal over the weekend for Celta Vigo target man Joaquin Larrivey after the Argentine had travelled to England to finalise personal terms and undergo a medical.

Norwich have also been linked with Blackburn's Rudy Gestede, Dynamo Kiev's Dieumerci Mbokani and Gayle's Eagles' team mate Glenn Murray over the summer but the Mirror claim on Monday the ex-Peterborough hitman could be another alternative.

Gayle has scored 12 Premier League goals in 48 appearances, but the majority have come off the bench and with Alan Pardew touted with moves for Charlie Austin and Loic Remy the 24-year-old could find himself further down the pecking order.
