Norwich City have returned with a fifth bid for Hull City's Robbie Brady, believed to be £6m.

HITC reported on Thursday afternoon the Canaries may have finally met the Tigers' valuation for the Republic of Ireland international, who could now be set to travel to Norfolk to finalise personal terms.

City's opening three offers, ranging between £2m and £3m, were branded 'embarrassing' by Hull chief Steve Bruce recently before the Canaries reportedly upped the ante for the 23-year-old.

Alex Neil made it clear after City's opening pre-season friendly stroll at Gorleston on Saturday he was still interested in recruiting the Manchester United trainee and Bruce has admitted he will not stand in the way of any of his players who want Premier League football following the Humberside club's relegation.

Norwich have so far brought in Youssouf Mulumbu and completed a permanent deal for his ex-West Brom team mate Graham Dorrans.

Neil pulled out of a proposed deal for Celta Vigo striker Joaquin Larrivey after meeting the striker last week but Portuguese sports paper A'Bola claimed on Wednesday City is one of four Premier League clubs monitoring Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani.

The 27-year-old Algerian international was a key figure in his country's World Cup success last summer in Brazil where they reached the knockout stages and could be on the market for £10.4m. West Ham, Newcastle United and Leicester City have also been touted as possible destinations.

Slimani has scored 20 goals in 37 appearances for his current club since moving in 2013 and has a similarly impressive strike rate for his country with 15 in 37 senior caps.

City striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel was unable to agree personal terms with Sporting recently for a return to Lisbon after the Canaries had reportedly reached agreement with his old club.
