The 29-year-old Dynamo Kiev striker has been linked with the Canaries throughout the summer and the move finally looks poised to go through.

BBC Sport's African football reporter Oluwashina Okeleji broke the news this lunchtime on Twitter, writing: 'CLOSE: #DRCongo striker Dieumerci Mbokani set to join #BPL side #NCFC on a season-long loan deal from Dynamo Kiev.'

Talksport are now also reporting that the powerful forward is flying in for a medical. Mbokani scored three goals in 13 appearances for Kiev last season and was reportedly on the lookout for a move to England this summer.

The DR Congo international has previously played for Standard Liege, Monaco, Wolfsburg and Anderlecht.

With Canaries boss Alex Neil said to be keen on Mbokani, a £4,3million bid was rumoured earlier in the summer, only for a disagreement between Kiev and Anderlecht to arise, with the Ukranian side said to still owe a final part of the fee they agreed to pay the Belgian club in 2013.

The move now looks to be resurrected as a loan deal, although confirmation is unlikely to be provided by City ahead of tomorrow's Premier League clash with Southampton.
