Norwich City's first team squad were put through their paces in a 90-minute training session in temperatures approaching 30c on Wednesday morning at their base in Grassau, Germany.

Alex Neil and his coaching team oversaw a punishing routine as the Canaries prepare for this weekend's second tour match against FC Augsburg before returning to England to continue their build-up to the Premier League kick-off.

Cameron Jerome did not take part in the session with the club's medical team still assessing the extent of the foot injury suffered at Cambridge United last week. Jerome watched Monday's 1-0 friendly defeat to Maccabi Haifa with a protective boot on his left foot.

Martin Olsson took part in the initial warm-up before continuing his rehab in one-to-one sessions on a pitch adjacent to the rest of his team mates, who took part in a series of small-sided games and shape work under the control of Neil and his first team coach Gary Holt.

• Photographer Paul Chesterton was granted full access to the session and further pictures will appear in Thursday's Eastern Daily Press and Norwich Evening News as well as online.
