Neil Adams is convinced Norwich City's players will not wilt in the face of Liverpool's attacking arsenal this weekend at Carrow Road.

Brendan Rodgers' squad have plundered 93 league goals this season but Adams is convinced he has the characters to resist as Norwich strive to ease their own suffering at the opposite end of the table. Adams saw enough on his managerial debut at Fulham last weekend to feel City possess those key fighting qualities.

'You have to want to play at the top level and prove yourself; particularly against these sort of big teams. All players and manager should want to be involved in the Premier League,' he said. 'I've only had one game but I want more of it and there are enough players in the squad who know what it means to the club and the supporters.

'I think you saw that last week. First and foremost you have to be professional and the boys we have out there, regardless of the situations they find themselves, have a duty and a job to do. The supporters deserve that as the minimum and the most pleasing thing for me in the short period of time I have worked with them is they have given me 100% effort.'

Adams knows the onus is on his side to rally another Carrow Road full house Sunday lunchtime against what he ranks as the best side in the country.

'Carrow Road has been packed for the last eight or nine years and the more support we get, the louder the noise and it does lift players,' he said. 'You can argue rightly or wrongly whether players should perform anyway without that backing, but I don't care what anyone says I have been there when the crowd are right behind you and you do get a lift it and you do find that little bit extra. We have seen a lot of games at Carrow Road when we haven't been expected to win.

'We have to make sure that the crowd stay with us, and that means obviously the application from the players being right and the football being right as well.

'No disrespect to the other teams in the league, but they're the best team in the country so it will be rocking.'
