Player ratings for both Norwich City and Everton following their Premier League clash.

• Norwich City

7 John Ruddy: Little chance with Nikica Jelavic's clinically-placed brace. Fine take from Marouane Fellaini header.

6 Russell Martin: Not helped by the general hesitancy prior to Everton's second goal.

7 Ryan Bennett: Another cool and composed shift on his home debut. Sharp learning curve with Jelavic's movement.

6 Elliott Ward: Superb late block to thwart Victor Anichebe. Good experienced foil alongside Ryan Bennett.

7 Adam Drury: Key contributions at either end. Triggered the first equaliser and a wonderful sliding far post clearance.

7 Elliott Bennett: Goal still eludes him. But not for want of trying. Got the upper hand against Leighton Baines. No mean feat.

7 David Fox: Must be loving operating in this midfield right now. One exquisite swivel the highlight to spring City forward again.

7 Andrew Surman: Back to his pre-Christmas best. Constantly involved in City's best attacking work in and around the penalty box.

8 Wes Hoolahan: Created both goals. Served up numerous other chances. Sublime linkage play with the rest of City's midfield.

8 Jonny Howson: Howson's display drew fulsome praise from Paul Lambert. Enough said. Multifaceted midfield player.

8 Grant Holt: Good physical battle with Sylvain Distin. Better when City overcame shaky early start. Trademark cool finish.

Subs: Aaron Wilbraham (for Fox) 7, Kyle Naughton (for Drury) 6, Andrew Crofts (for Hoolahan) 5

• Everton

7 Tim Howard: No chance with the first Norwich goal. Good save from Aaron Wilbraham counted for nothing.

6 Tony Hibbert Denied a first Everton senior goal when his cross drifted over John Ruddy and hit woodwork. Unfussy shift.

6 Phil Jagielka Struggled to deal with Grant Holt at times. Touch fortunate not to be penalised for hand ball.

7 Sylvain Distin Better when Everton were on top in the first 20 minutes. Exposed thereafter by City's midfield probings.

5 Leighton Baines Should never have finished the game. Left a leg in on David Fox that deserved a second yellow before interval.

6 Magaye Gueye Fantastic early cross almost opened scoring for Nikica Jelavic. Sacrificed at half-time.

7 Darron Gibson Intelligent footballer. Broke up most of Norwich's early thrusts. Efficient distrubtion as well.

5 Phil Neville Lost Wes Hoolahan for Norwich's first goal. Not his most memorable outing.

7 Steven Pienaar Quality operator but only a sporadic influence. Could claim an assist for Everton's second goal.

6 Tim Cahill Not the force of old on his two showings against Norwich this season. Peripheral.

8 Nikica Jelavic Striker in top form. One right, one left footed finish into opposite corner. Should cut out the play-acting.

Subs: Seamus Coleman (for Gueye) 6, Marouane Fellaini (for Neville) 6, Victor Anichebe (for Cahill) 5
