A spectacular goal from Robbie Sweeney was the young Canaries' only reward from Saturday's FA Premier Academy League defeat at Colney.
A Norwich side without their FA Youth Cup players were already trailing 4-0 when Sweeney struck.
Manchester City, under ex-Canary coach Adam Sadler and with goalkeeper Angus Gunn on the bench, scored through Brandon Barker and Dominic McHale before a triallist added a goal in each half.
