Norwich City's Russell Martin has been recalled to the Scotland senior squad for next week's friendly in Slovenia - with Welsh colleagues Andrew Crofts and Steve Morison named in Chris Coleman's first squad for a Cardiff friendly against Costa Rica.

Martin was named in Craig Levein's initial 24-man party on Monday morning for the friendly in Koper on Wednesday, February 29 as the Scots gear up for their World Cup qualifying campaign which starts later this year.

Martin has one senior international cap after featuring in last summer's Carling Nations Cup tournament. The defender was forced to pull out of a friendly against Cyprus earlier this season after damaging his ankle in Norwich's 3-2 Premier League defeat at Aston Villa.

Meanwhile, midfielder Crofts and striker Morison have been included in Coleman's first squad on the same night for what will be Wales' first game since the tragic death of former national manager Gary Speed. More than 50 former international colleagues of the ex-Leeds, Everton and Newcastle midfielder are expected to attend the game at Cardiff's City Stadium as part of a memorial occasion planned in tribute to their ex-team mate who died in November.
