Carrow Road will feature ‘the first rotating big screen in world football’ this season, according to Norwich City.

The Canaries have revealed details of the new screen ahead of their first home game of the new season, against Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow (5.30pm kick-off).

The permanently-fixed screen has been installed in front of the Holiday Inn Hotel between the South Stand and the Barclay Stand ahead of the Championship clash, which is being broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Confirming details of the new screen ahead of the match, a club statement reads: “The innovative screen, the first rotating big screen in world football, is part of our ongoing commitment to enhance the matchday experience for as many of our fans as possible.

“An exclusive pre-match show featuring a range of exciting video content, including highlights of previous matches, will help build the atmosphere, while during the game fans will be able to enjoy action replays of City’s goals.

“The club has also introduced more than 60 new small screens into concourse areas for the enjoyment of supporters throughout the stadium.”

The screen represents one of the most noticeable improvements to Carrow Road in recent years, as City’s efforts to modernise their home continue.

The club has played at Carrow Road since 1935 but the stadium has been fully rebuilt through the years, with the £8m South Stand rebuild completed in 2004.

“The big screen sees the latest enhancement in the matchday experience at Carrow Road and it’s sure to have a big impact,” City’s head of marketing Ed Guichard told the club’s official website.

“In using the latest technology we’ve been able to install the first screen of its kind in any football ground in the world and we’re really excited to unveil it.”
