Jonny Howson's spectacular volley for the Canaries in their 5-1 win over Nottingham Forest last month was voted the best ever goal at Carrow Road by City fans – but it didn't even make goal of the month in a national vote.
Howson's brilliant effort from outside the box was well beaten by a similar effort from Sheffield Wednesday's Almen Abdi in the poll for the Sky Bet Championship's goal of the month for February.
The Swiss midfielder's strike, also against Forest, received 49 per cent of the public vote to see off competition from Howson and Burton's Michael Kightly, whose goal in the 2-1 win over City also made the top three.
Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman, one of the judges, said: 'Unfortunately for Forest, they seem to have been on the end of quite a few screamers in the last month and this volley was the pick of the bunch. His shot was hit with so much pace and power it gave the keeper no chance and nearly broke the net.'
