Denham hit the front in the second minute when Lauren Cox rose unchallenged to head the ball past Laura Hartley.

Norwich regrouped recovering from this early set-back and took hold of the game. The first opportunity on 18 minutes fell to Jodie Drake, a well driven shot from the right some 30 yards, which was well saved by the Denham goalkeeper.

Kyla Love's curling attempt went just wide of the far post on 31 minutes and her second, a similar shot on 38 minutes, drew a full length save.

Norwich started the second half as they finished the first, enjoying decent possession and going close.

On 56 minutes Natasha Snelling's shot was blocked on the line by a Denham defender with the keeper stranded and the ball frantically cleared from the goal line.

However Denham broke away punishing an over extended Norwich midfield with Lauren Cox scoring against the run of play.

Unperturbed, Norwich again went on the offensive and on 61 minutes Love went close with an improvised effort but it just wasn't City's day in front of goal.

They are in action on Sunday at home to Stevenage.
