It is one of the most anticipated moments in the Canary calender and now the Norwich City football kit has been revealed.

The new kit went on sale on Saturday as the team looks ahead to better performance in the 2017/2018 season.

The kit is on sale at all three of the Caneries offical stores- Castle Mall, intu Chapelfield and Carrow Road- and online. The strip has been inspired by the famous Admiral kit of the late 1970s, but with a modern twist.

Put together by current long-term technical partners Errea, the kit features the latest comfort and performance technology combined with the 'Italian style and flair' the club says it enjoys from working with the brand.

City managing director Steve Stone said: 'I'm delighted with our new home kit for the 2017-18 season and I hope our fans will be pleased with it too. Once again, our retail team have done an outstanding job in designing a strong and classic kit for our squad to wear for the upcoming campaign.'

The strip will debut at Carrow Road when the yellows play Brighton in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, July 29.

Earlier this week, the kit sparked debate among fans, as mobile gaming and sports betting operator LeoVegas was announced as the club's new sponsor.

The Swedish-based company will become a principal partner for the next three seasons with its branding appearing on the club's adult first team shirts and matchday training kit, along with branding at Carrow Road in what is one of the biggest of its kind in the Championship.

Mr Stone said: 'We are delighted to welcome LeoVegas as our principal partner for the next three seasons, and as such they are making a vital commitment to Norwich City.

'It has been a positive summer for the club commercially, and this lucrative partnership with LeoVegas will generate vital income into Norwich City.'

In an online poll posted on the EDP and Evening News websites, 63pc of the 3,500 who voted disagreed with the club's sponsorship decision.

A spokesman for club said: LeoVegas and Norwich City are committed to promoting responsible gambling at all times and will be working closely with leading charity GambleAware on this throughout the course of the sponsorship.'

Initial Reaction

With images being released of the kit online yesterday, fans have been taking to social media to have their say on the new strip.

Fans on Twitter have been asking if it will be possible to get the kit without the sponsors branding.

Robin Turner asked: 'Very nice, but will there be a non-sponsor version of the kit?'

Swedish mobile gaming and betting operator LeoVegas has received mix reactions from fans.

In a poll run on the EDP and Evening News websites, 69pc of the 2,000 voters said that they liked the kit. However, another poll on the same sites had 63pc of the 3,500 voters saying that they disagreed with LeoVegas sponsoring City.

But NaarfolkYellow commented on the EDP website saying: 'Love the new kit, have no problem at all with the sponsor being an online betting company. 'Just because they are advertising it, doesn't mean you have to go out and do it.'
