Michael Turner and Jonas Gutierrez stepped up their injury comebacks with 45 minutes for Norwich City Under-21s this afternoon.
The pair played the first half of a 3-2 friendly win against Charlton Athletic at Colney this afternoon, which was won by a late Carlton Morris goal.
Centre-back Turner has not played for City since damaging his hamstring in the New Year's Day 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace and winger Gutierrez has only played twice for City since joining on loan from Newcastle United.
The Argentina international has not played for the Canaries since injuring his calf in the 2-1 loss at Cardiff City at the start of February but is now edging back to fitness.
Under-21s coach Mark Robson, speaking to www.canaries.co.uk, said: 'We were able to get Michael and Jonas out there for a half – it was good that they were able to get some time on the pitch under their belt.
'The fact that they're on their way back meant they were feeling their way into it. Hopefully they're not going to be too far away from selection for the first team.'
Gutierrez was replaced by young striker Carlton Morris at half-time of the behind-closed-doors friendly, with City 1-0 down after Kyle McFadden gave away a penalty in the 24th minute, which keeper Remi Matthews couldn't keep out.
The young Canaries equalised a minute after the break though, with winger Josh Murphy setting up Jamar Loza to power home and then Murphy setting up Morris to equalise again in the 66th minute.
Morris, part of the club's FA Youth Cup winning side last season, then curled home a winner deep into injury-time to seal the victory.
Robson added: 'It was a very good goal from Carlton, he took it very well.
'It was a bit of a friendly game to be fair in the first half, there was no real tempo to it. We did a bit more in the second half and created enough chances.'
