Norwich City defender Michael Turner has signed a new contract at Carrow Road, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2016.

The 30-year-old, who has started all of City's matches so far this season, committed his future to the Canaries this afternoon with the club having the option of extending his new deal for an additional 12 months.

City boss, Neil Adams, said: 'Michael has been outstanding since I came into the job.

'That includes last season as well; he's carried on the form he showed in those final few games into pre-season and then the start of this season.

'He fully deserves his new contract and we're absolutely delighted that he's signed on the dotted line.'

Turner joined from Sunderland in July 2012 and featured 28 times in his first campaign at Carrow Road, playing his part in eight clean sheets and scoring important goals against Aston Villa and Swansea City.
