Norwich City chief scout Ewan Chester is reported to be joining Chelsea.

The Canaries announced last month that the Scot would be leaving Carrow Road at the end of August.

New Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is understood to be taking on two new scouts as part of his backroom team, bringing in Chester for a leading role, along with former Wimbledon talent-spotter Roger Smith.

Chester joined City in May 2010 from Glasgow Rangers after enjoying great success in two spells at Ibrox, when the club won 35 domestic honours. He also spent two seasons at Fulham.

City said he had agreed to stay until August 31 to assist the club's scouting operation during the summer transfer window.
