Neil Adams knows his future as Norwich City boss is on the line after more Championship misery in a 2-1 home defeat to Reading.

Boos and chants of 'what a load of rubbish' rang around Carrow Road at the final whistle after Jake Cooper's headed brace cancelled out Gary Hooper's first half opener.

Norwich have now won one league game in 10 to slip eight points behind leaders Derby, but Adams believes he will get time to sort out the mess.

'I hope so. I know what I am capable of and it is understandable the pressure is there because results are not in keeping with the quality of the player and size of this club,' he said. 'The only thing we focus on is working as hard as we possibly can to change it.

'Of course it is a results business, I am well aware of that, and that means we have to win games, but that is the only thing we will focus on going forward. We have come off the pitch again with nothing to show and probably of greater concern is we need to get back to the manner of performance we are capable of because we are not doing that.'

Adams accepts his squad are short-changing fans, with only one Carrow Road league win since August 19.

'Talk is cheap as they say. We have to win games, simple as that or it gets worse and worse,' he said. 'We're in a bad run of form. We accept this is not good enough. We feel we can turn it around, but we are saying these words too often. The players need to give everything they have got because we're in a bad place at the minute and it is never nice losing games.'
