Neil Adams is convinced Norwich City are on the right track for Championship success

Neil Adams has done the maths and Norwich City's squad is hitting his targets after a solid start to life back in the Championship.
Adams knows two points per game will push the club firmly to the front of the pack chasing Premier League promotion after City headed into the first international shutdown with 10 points from their opening five league games, despite failing to cash in to full effect against Bournemouth.
'We'd have settled for that return at this stage,' he said. 'Of course I would have liked 15 points, and we tried to do everything we could to get the win against Bournemouth, but I just said to the players we are a touch disappointed because we have only drawn a game. That is a good sign because you don't want to come in high fiving each other when you have taken a point at Carrow Road. It needs to be win, win all the time here and we know if we don't then we have let points slip. We know how tough it is but, two points per game, I would certainly take that for the rest of the season because it would mean we are right up there challenging at the top.'
Adams admitted City failed to scale the heights of previous league wins at Carrow Road this season against a well-drilled Bournemouth.
'Listen, you'll get games like this one and Bournemouth is a good team who look to dominate the ball,' he said. 'There will be different tests to them this season.
'I spoke to Eddie (Howe) after the game and he said, 'You've got a good team there' and I said to him, 'Your team is not so bad as well.' I don't think that game would have been out of place in the Premier League, certainly the way both teams tried to keep the ball and how they looked to move it. It was two teams who can pass and are comfortable moving that ball around the pitch.
'You see a lot of games where you get two or three passes and then a turnover and the cycle is repeated with a lot of long balls.

'You saw two teams here who like to get it down and play. That is probably why you wouldn't say it was a thrilling game because it wasn't end-to-end.
'We were pleased how we got on top in the second half and if there was one team who would have got the second goal it would have been us.'
