Team news, manager, player to watch, head to head, referee and betting odds for Norwich City's Capital One Cup fixture at home to Doncaster Rovers.

• Norwich City team news:

It's quicker to rule players out rather than focus on who is likely to feature for a much-changed Norwich City side. Sebastien Bassong (hamstring) and Anthony Pilkington (back) are ruled out, along with Simon Lappin (ankle) and Steven Whittaker (ankle). But the former Rangers' man is poised to re-join first team training later this week after a lengthy lay-off stretching back to pre-season.

Substitutes (from): Declan Rudd, Russell Martin, Bradley Johnson, Andrew Surman, Josh Murphy, Grant Holt, Simeon Jackson.

• Doncaster Rovers team news:

Doncaster midfielder Martin Woods is the major injury concern for Rovers' chief Dean Saunders. The former Scotland U21 international was forced off with a knee problem in the weekend's League One draw against Stevenage. Iain Hume would be a logical replacement. The highly-rated teenage defender James Husband could also be given a chance at Carrow Road this evening.

Substitutes (from): Jonathan Maxted, James Husband, Shelton Martis, Robbie Blake, Iain Hume, James Harper, Billy Paynter.

• One to watch:

Kyle Bennett. Sibling rivalry could ensue at Carrow Road if elder brother Elliott features in the home ranks. Kyle is a pacy midfielder in a similar mould who also started out at Wolves. Impressed during a one season spell at Bury to earn his move up the Football League ladder in the summer.

• Head to head:

Ryan Bennett v Chris Brown. Norwich's England U21 international centre back played the full 90 minutes in the previous round victory over Scunthorpe. Currently having to bide his time in the Premier League, but a classy prospect with undoubted pedigree. Former Norwich striker Brown has scored four goals in eight appearances for Rovers since a summer move. A better ratio than his one in 24 outings for the Canaries during a one-year stint.

• Manager:

Dean Saunders. Fearsome Welsh striker in his own playing days, where he carved out an impressive top flight career at the likes of Derby, Liverpool and Aston Villa. Embarked on a coaching career in non league at Wrexham in 2008, where he also combined his duties as an assistant coach with the Welsh national side. Left Wrexham top of the Conference National to join Doncaster in September 2011, but was unable to prevent Rovers slipping out of the Championship last season.

• Referee:

Darren Deadman (Cheshunt). Shown 20 yellow cards and two red in his five appointments this season. First visit to Carrow Road since overseeing Norwich's 3-1 League One win over Exeter in January 2010. Booked Darel Russell on that occasion.
