Goalkeeper Mark Bunn acknowledged the Premier League may still be underestimating the quality at Norwich City – and he wouldn't mind if that continued.

While the Canaries are big hits among their own fans, they arguably remain a group of players some outside Norfolk would struggle to name – while sitting eighth in the Premier League is regularly classed as City punching above their weight. But Bunn believes Norwich are proving their quality and punishing anyone who takes them lightly.

'In training you see some great stuff from the lads,' said the keeper. 'And yes, maybe some teams have looked at us and felt this is going to be an easy win but we have shown that is not the case.

'Not just this season but last season the lads managed to do really well. I think teams are starting to worry when they play us. It showed at Swansea and we managed to win there.

'Teams maybe will take more notice of us. We have had some tough games but we have managed to do well.'

Arriving in the summer from Blackburn where manager Steve Kean had to withstand months of abuse from his own supporters, Bunn is enjoying the altogether better feeling emanating around Carrow Road and working with Norwich manager Chris Hughton.

'He is more hands-on than a lot of other managers, he will be out doing all the sessions at training – most other managers would probably take a step back in the training pitch and watch more,' said Bunn.

'Even when we are not in he will take the reserves or the young lads and do a session or even one-to-ones.

'He is definitely a coach whereas other managers maybe pick and choose when they are out there on the pitch.

'He'll put the cones out and be running about with us.

'It was just a weird atmosphere at Blackburn last season. The manager was getting plenty of abuse every week but here they are chanting his name and that is something I am not used to.

'It is good to see that because he is a good manager and a great guy.'
