An unbeaten return to frontline management has earned Norwich City favourite Gary Holt the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership Manager of the Month award for September.

The former Canaries midfielder and coach brought an end to two years out of the game when he took over from Kenny Miller at Livingston in late August, after the former Rangers forward decided he wanted to keep playing.

Holt – who made 182 appearances for Norwich – stepped in and won his first three games. Home victories over Hibs, Hamilton and Rangers, as well as a 0-0 draw at Hearts, earned the award.

The unbeaten run stretched to six games at the weekend with a 1-1 draw at Motherwell, leaving Livi – promoted via the play-offs last season – in fifth place and four points adrift of leaders Hearts.

Holt formerly led Falkirk to the Scottish Championship play-offs in 2014 but rejoined Norwich as a coach, assisting Neil Adams and then Alex Neil, before a mutually-agreed exit in the summer of 2016.
