Reports in the Netherlands have suggested FC Twente midfielder Leroy Fer is currently in Norwich for a medical, ahead of signing a five-year deal at Carrow Road.

The 23-year-old's current club are believed to have accepted an offer of somewhere between 5m-8m euros for the Dutch international, with part of that amount due to his former club Rotterdam.

Fer came close to joining Everton in January, only for a failed medical to be blamed for the deal falling through. It is believed the Toffees' interest has waned since then.

Fer is entering the final year of his FC Twente contract, although there is the option of an extra year on top.

A picture of Fer at Carrow Road's Yellows restaurant circulated the internet during Wednesday.
