Clarke, sacked as Reading boss in December, has extensive experience in the game. He managed West Brom and worked as a number two with Chelsea, Newcastle, West Ham and Liverpool.

Bond, the son of former Canaries boss John Bond, made 161 appearances for Norwich before going on to play for clubs including Manchester City, Southampton and Bournemouth.

The 58-year-old has had coaching roles with Tottenham, Portsmouth, Newcastle, Southampton and Bournemouth previously, leaving QPR in February 2015 after a brief spell as caretaker after Harry Redknapp's exit.

Bond played for the Canaries between 1974 and 1981, but will now face them in the Championship next season.

Villa also announced that Italian goalkeeper coach Massimo Battara has arrived after spells at Napoli, Fiorentina, Inter Milan, Manchester City and Schalke, with compatriot Massimiliano Marchesi the new fitness coach.
