James Maddison knows there are now big questions being asked of Norwich City following their 4-3 Championship defeat at Hull – and he hopes their trip to Barnsley will offer the right answers.
The young midfielder's stunning breakthrough season hit a new high at the weekend, with his first senior hat-trick.
Yet City's complete breakdown at the other end of the pitch – and one woeful refereeing decision – somehow left Daniel Farke's men with nothing to show for their efforts at relegation-threatened Hull.
Now the Canaries head to another side in a similar position, with their rearranged trip to Oakwell on Tuesday night.
'It's a quick turnover and it will be a similar game, again, against another team that's fighting against relegation,' said Maddison.
'And people will question us now, as a team. I haven't looked at the table but it can't be looking too good for the play-offs and I don't think we're too close to relegation.

'So people will be questioning us. Do we have the desire to go and win games because we maybe haven't got anything to play for at this moment in time?
'But I think as a group and individuals, we have to look at ourselves and what we have within us, to go to Barnsley and give the fans a performance – and hopefully a win – to show that we're not down and out for the season.'
The bad news kept coming on Humberside, with Moritz Leitner picking up a hamstring injury that has the potential to end his season – and therefore his loan spell at Carrow Road from Augsburg.
'He'll be a big miss,' acknowledged Maddison, who was suffering through illness on Saturday – despite completing 90 minutes.

'He's been brilliant since he has come in. He's a really good footballer. If anyone had seen training, they'd understand straight away. From the first session, I said to the boys this guy is a good player. You could tell with the way he touches and runs with the ball.
'He's kept us ticking over in games and maybe we haven't scored that many goals recently, but the dynamic he gives us – we'll definitely miss that on the pitch. Hopefully he has a speedy recovery.'
Maddison added: 'After a result like this, I question why I want to do it – but I love football. I haven't been well the last couple of days. As the boss said, I had a room to myself, had breakfast on my own and stayed away from the boys. I didn't want to get anyone else ill.
'But now, I'm just overridden by disappointment.'
