City stormed into the play-off final at Wembley with a 3-1 victory over Ipswich at Carrow Road.

At the final whistle, a number of Norwich fans ran onto the pitch and a Twitter account called @IpswichTownFans has sent a video and photo to Norfolk Police identifying some of those who ran onto the pitch and wrote 'in case you need help identifying the pitch invaders'.

But many Town supporters said the reaction was embarrassing.

'I'm an Ipswich fan and this is petty as hell, an embarrassment to all town fans,' one wrote.

Another said: 'I agree it's very embarassing (sic). A lot of grumpy Town supporters today but it's a really low move to have done that.'

The @IpswichTownFans later described the action as 'tongue in cheek'.

Thames Valley officers mounted on horses were used to defuse the situation.

Match-day policing commander, Chief Superintendent Nick Davison, said the atmosphere was 'lively, but good natured'.

But he added: 'A number of supporters, however behaved unacceptably by coming onto the pitch after full time, which was disappointing.

'Cordons were put in place to ensure the safety of those attending before and after the match and I would like to thank the supporters and motorists for their co-operation during this time.'

Three people were arrested on Saturday.
