Norwich City duo Dieumerci Mbokani and Youssouf Mulumbu could be joined by another Premier League player in the Democratic Republic of Congo squad.
Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe, who has impressed with five goals in 11 games for the Cherries since joining from Wolves in a £10m deal in January, has been included in the DR of Congo squad for 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola.
The 23-year-old – who came close to joining the Canaries last summer – has represented England at regularly at youth levels but has now handed a maiden call-up in a 32-man provisional squad for the Group B fixtures at home on March 26 and away in Lubango three days later.
Afobe holds dual nationality and has not played for England's senior side. Other Premier League players listed include Mulumbu and Mbokani, Newcastle defender Chancel Mbemba and Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie.
