Paul Lambert paid tribute to the work of City's ground staff for helping Carrow Road host one of only seven matches on Saturday.

The bad weather wiped out matches across the country, leaving just two games in the top flight, three in the Championship and two - City's and leaders Leeds' game against Wycombe - in League One.

City used their undersoil heating at regular intervals during the week, when the first team squad also trained at the ground because of the snow at Colney. The only sign of snow inside the ground was a line around the perimeter.

'I think the ground staff deserve a lot of credit for what they have done,' said the City boss.

'I was in the other day and people from the offices were sweeping the terracing so it just shows you that people are working really hard to try and get the games on.

'The staff, Gary (Kemp) and his team there definitely deserve credit.'
