Norwich City old boy Chris Martin came back to haunt his former club by inspiring a second-half fightback that denied the Canaries a first Craven Cottage win since 1986.

Graham Dorrans appeared to have put Alex Neil's men well on the way when he slotted two cool penalties prior to the interval but City buckled under a sustained onslaught from the hosts immediately after the interval. Martin's goalbound shot brushed Martin Olsson and team-mate Stefan Johansen, who was later credited with the final touch, before Martin equalised from close-range.

Neil made one change to the starting line up that beat Rotherham United 3-1 on Saturday. Fit-again Robbie Brady replaced Alex Pritchard after missing the Millers' victory following his concussion suffered on international duty. Jonny Howson (ankle) again missed out with Steven Naismith retaining his place in the matchday squad. The Cottagers featured Martin, who scored his first goal since a loan move from Derby in Fulham's 4-2 weekend win at Barnsley.

Cameron Jerome's willingness to chase lost causes was a notable feature of the frenetic early stages with Tim Ream harassed into conceding a free kick. Brady's whipped delivery was cleared at the near post but Timm Klose was then just unable to guide a glancing header inside the far post from the corner.

Both sides were playing with a wonderful sense of freedom with the home fans playing their part in a cacophony of clap banners. Michael McGovern pushed Sone Aluko's angled shot around his post in the midst of the din.

Klose went even closer from the next Brady corner when the big Swiss international arrived unmarked six yards out, but mis-directed his header.

City's surge brought its reward in the 17th minute when Brady led the breakout and fed Jacob Murphy who burst past Scott Malone before being crudely upended inside the Fulham box.

Dorrans kept his composure to rifle the penalty down the middle, with David Button diving to his right.

Fulham's pressing remained unrelenting despite the spot kick as the Whites committed men into advanced positions at every opportunity.

Jerome's aerial presence in his own penalty box twice bailed out Neil's troops as the Scot prowled his technical area urging Norwich to remain disciplined.

Fulham's insatiable appetite for work showed no signs of abating but Norwich cashed in again four minutes from the interval from the penalty spot when Jerome tumbled under the luckless Malone's attentions at the far post.

Scott Parker's angry protests earned him a yellow card but the cool Dorrans kept his nerve to slot low past Button.

Referee Linnington was public enemy number one in the aftermath with disgruntled home fans and Jerome was next into the notebook for a late sliding challenge on Ragnar Sigurdsson.

Fulham's adventurous policy ratcheted up a level on the restart with plenty of space for Norwich to exploit on the counter. Johansen clipped the side netting with a free kick but Fulham were given hope in the 55th minute when Martin punished his old club with a deflected shot from the edge of the area that appeared to brush Olsson and hit Johansen.

Norwich were rocked back in the aftermath with the ferocity of Fulham's play forcing Neil to sacrifice the ineffective Wes Hoolahan for Naismith as City's midfield continued to struggle.

But Dorrans' coughed up possession cheaply in the midst of the onslaught and was punished heavily when Johansen picked out the unmarked Martin to draw Fulham level when he whipped a 16 yard strike past McGovern.

Tettey forced Button to parry his stinging shot with Norwich striving to clear their heads but a follow up effort sailed harmlessly into the away fans.

Jacob Murphy led the break out in stoppage time before clipping a low cross that appeared to strike the arm of a diving Fulham defender inside his own box but City were refused a third spot kick by the official.
