Norwich City defender George Francomb has signed a new one-year contract with the club with a one-year option.

The 19-year-old has made four first team appearances for City, his only outing this season coming in the 3-1 Carling Cup defeat at Blackburn Rovers.

He had three months on loan at League Two Barnet at the end of 2010, when he made 15 starts for the Bees.

'I'm over the moon to sign another deal and glad the gaffer has given me another opportunity to further my career,' he told the club's official website.

City boss Paul Lambert said: 'He's got a great chance to try to do something in the profession. He deserves this opportunity and has been training with the first team and doesn't look out of place.'
