Dom Dwyer was on target again as the USA were held to a 1-1 draw against Panama in their Gold Cup opener on Saturday.
The former King's Lynn Town and Norwich City youngster notched on his debut in a friendly against Ghana last weekend and was at it again on Saturday night in Nashville. However, it wasn't enough for the USA to get their Gold Cup campaign off to a winning start as Panama held Bruce Arena's side to a draw. Sporting Kansas City forward, Dwyer, opened the scoring in the 50th minute after good work by Kelyn Rowe but Panama equalised through Miguel Camargo shortly after.
The USA are next in action on Wednesday evening when they take on Martinique in Tampa Bay and Dwyer, 26, is almost certain to start. The USA's Group B campaign will be completed next Saturday against Nicaragua. Dwyer moved to the US eight years ago and has proved a big hit first with Orlando City before starring for Kansas.
