Bryan Oviedo thanked the Goodison faithful for making him feel at home during his first Premier League start – and helping to set up Steven Naismith's first half opener.

The Costa Rican international joined on August deadline day and had previously only made appearances from the bench and in the Capital One Cup.

'It was a difficult game,' he said. 'We were winning for almost all of it and then Norwich scored in the last minute. We need to get it out of our heads because the next game is coming in a few days and we need to be prepared for that.'

Everton host Arsenal at Goodison Park on Wednesday night.

'The support is very good and we need that support as a team, but I am not so happy at the moment because we wanted to win. It is difficult because everybody is sad. When I play, I always try to help the team and play well, for me and for Everton of course.'
