Norwich City chief Chris Hughton is confident Ricky van Wolfswinkel will hit the Premier League goal trail.

The Dutchman was denied by a stunning second half save from Fulham keeper David Stockdale in the 1-1 FA Cup third round draw against the Cottagers on his first Canaries' start in three months following a foot injury.

Van Wolfswinkel has failed to add to his solitary goal scored on the opening day of the Premier League season after a club-record move from Portugal, but Hughton is adamant the 24-year-old will fire.

'Ricky is someone used to scoring goals and that was an outstanding save because from the angle I was we thought it was in,' he said. 'It didn't happen for him in front of goal and maybe there were one or two occasions when he could have got across the keeper but it was really important for him to get 90 minutes under his belt.

'We know he has missed some three months, which is a fair time to be out and it is disappointing for him after such a good start with an fine goal on the first day.'
