Licence to get forward. Good appetite for work 7.0
• Christoph Zimmermann
Decision-making, bar one miscued clearance, impressive. Dominant in the one-v-one duels with Adam Le Fondre when Bolton countered. 7.5
• Grant Hanley
Just got slightly ahead of James Maddison's early free kick with a glancing flick. Assumed responsibillity as the senior partner in Timm Klose's absence. 7.5
• Jamal Lewis
Certainly doesn't shirk the physical aspect of his job. Collecting one too many yellow cards at present. 7.0

More onus on his screening work in a tweaked formation. One or two wayward passes. 6.5
• Onel Hernandez
Plenty of endeavour. Never neglected his defensive work. Faded along with his team mates after the interval. 6.5
• Moritz Leitner
Spurned a glorious chance. The upright took the full force of his fury in the immediate aftermath. 6.5
• James Maddison
Slammed a shot against a post. Tested Ben Alnwick with another first half dig and again the instigator-in-chief. 7.5
• Josh Murphy
Heavy first touch invited David Wheater to make a last-ditch tackle, after bursting onto Nelson Oliveira's pass. 6.5
• Nelson Oliveira
Carried on in the same vein from a late salvo at Wolves. Goalbound shot superbly parried by Alnwick. Should have had not one but two assists after exquisite passes for Josh Murphy and Moritz Leitner, 7.5
City substitutes
• Dennis Srbeny n/a
One scuffed shot at Alnwick.
(for Onel Hernandez, 77)
• Wes Hoolahan n/a
(for Alex Tettey, 80)
