Josh Murphy revealed there is one special fixture he is looking forward to after sealing a Premier League switch to Cardiff City.

The club's academy product joined the top flight new boys on Tuesday in a four year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Murphy admitted he is looking forward to a swift reunion with twin Jacob, who made a similar move 12 months ago to Newcastle United.

The Murphy brothers will now be scanning the 2018/19 fixtures released later this week to see when they can potentially become the first twins to ever face each other in the Premier League.

'I'll be looking to see what our opening fixture is, of course, but after that I'll look for the Newcastle games and see when we're going to have a bit of Murphy versus Murphy,' said Josh. 'That'll be nice for the family, before and after, but for those 90 minutes it'll be 'winner takes all'.'

Murphy was touted with fellow Premier League rivals Brighton and Middlesbrough in recent days, but the FA Youth Cup winner revealed the chance to work with Neil Warnock was a major draw.

Murphy knows the debt he owes Norwich City.

'After spending half of my life at Norwich with some great memories it's time for me to move,' he tweeted on his official account on Tuesday evening. 'I'd like to say a big thank you to Delia, Michael and Ettie for the unconditional love and support for the last 12 years.

'Of course a huge thanks to all the fans who have supported me and I really wish you all the best for next season.

'Lastly thanks to the boss and all the staff. Most importantly my team mates past and present who I have shared the journey with. Will miss you all.'

Bluebirds' chief Warnock had identified Murphy as his number one transfer target.

'The manager has been absolutely brilliant, especially the way he's told me that he wants to play and use me,' he said.

'I can't think of a better fit and can't wait to get started, I'm buzzing to be here and in the Premier League.

'I'm really looking forward to playing with these boys week in, week and out and hopefully doing something special. I've a lot of time now to get used to the lads so this is the perfect time to come here.'

Murphy notched 11 goals in 47 appearances last season for the Canaries but missed out in both Championship defeats to his new club.

The highly-rated wide player did score the winner in Norwich's 3-2 league win the previous season at Carrow Road.

'I've scored a couple against Cardiff, yeah, but now it's all about scoring goals for us,' he said, speaking to Cardiff's official site. 'I can't wait get going and hopefully hit the ground running. The city is beautiful, nice and chilled and the people seem really lovely.

'This is an exciting time and a great place to be.'

Murphy took to Twitter last night to thank to bid his farewells.

'After spending half of my life at NCFC with some great memories it's time for me to move on,' he said. 'I'd like to say a big thank you to Delia, Michael and Ettie (Delia's mother) for the unconditional love and support given for the last 12 years. Of course a huge thanks to all the fans who have supported me and I really wish you all the best for next season. Lastly thanks to the boss, all the staff... most importantly my team mates past and present who I've shared the journey with. Will miss you all.'
