Steve McClaren insisted his side were denied a clear penalty in a game he felt was decided by a stroke of luck rather than Teemu Pukki's composed finish.
Pukki had to adjust to chest home Marco Stiepermann's cross, which spiralled off Toni Leistner's boot, to seal a third straight league win for Norwich City.
The Canaries had 63pc of the possession at Loftus Road, and spurned clear chances to increase their final margin of victory, but McClaren was adamant his team had suffered a hard luck story.
The former England chief felt Massimo Luongo should have had a penalty, when he tumbled under Timm Klose's challenge in a late penalty box scramble.
'It was a horrible game, not even a proper goal. A ricochet off Leistner's toe and then chest and in,' he said, in his Skysports post-match interview.
'The difference is we didn't score. We had enough opportunities, half chances.
'You see the penalty against Luongo at the end. Just about to pull the trigger and he gets pushed over. Ridiculous. It is right on his (the referee's) side. We missed that. There were a couple of decisions we should have got, free kicks.

'There were no big chances.

'I thought it was two very good teams. Norwich play good football.
'The first half an hour we allowed them to do that too much but once we organised, pressed, we just lacked that final pass or final shot which we know we have in the team.
'They got the break, we didn't.
'I am disappointed because I thought our endeavour was magnificent. We said if we defended really well, which we did do, we'll score because we have that quality. But that was lacking and it is always the same in a third game week.
'We didn't deserve it. We lick our wounds. Six points from three games was the minimum we wanted and very unlucky not to get more in this game.
'I am disappointed we didn't score because if we don't, we don't lose the game.'
