Alex Neil knows who he wants for his Championship crusade – now he has to break the news to his Norwich City squad.

The Canaries' chief has talks scheduled on Monday to embark on the next phase of a summer re-build after a 3-0 Premier League defeat in their top-flight swansong at Everton.

City finished 19th in the Premier League and will be joined in the Championship next season by Newcastle United and Aston Villa after only a 12-month absence.

'I will speak to every player and for the majority of them I know where they are going. They just haven't found out yet,' said the Norwich manager. 'It is clear in my own mind and it has been since we started the planning for going forward.

'I think we have got a lot of decisions to make. There is going to be a lot of discussions over these next few days. Then we'll see who is coming with us. It is a tough one because there is probably a couple with their contracts starting to wind down who will be difficult to keep hold of. Then I think there will be others who deem themselves they should be playing in the Premier League but some of those players may find the decision is not theirs to make.'
