Norwich City's talented young midfielder Tom Adeyemi has agreed a new deal to stay at Carrow Road until 2012.

The 18-year-old is the latest graduate of the club's academy to pledge his short term future to the Canaries as manager Paul Lambert builds a squad to compete in the Championship.

The athletic midfielder - named League One apprentice of the year at the Football League awards in March - progressed all the way through the club's academy ranks after joining at the age of seven, and signed his first professional deal in November 2008. Adeyemi has made 17 first team appearances but his last outing this season came as a second half substitute in the Boxing Day home win over Millwall.

His impressive pre-season form earned him a senior league debut in the heavy opening day defeat to Lambert's Colchester before a first start three days later in the 4-0 League Cup win at Yeovil.
