Norwich City's on-loan midfielder Jacob Butterfield is enjoying a fresh lease of life at Championship club Bolton.

The 22-year-old inspired Dougie Freedman's side to a midweek 2-1 derby win at title contenders Blackburn. He is yet to feature on the losing side for the Trotters after moving to the north-west on an emergency loan until December 8 in a bid for regular first-team football following an injury-hit start to his Norwich career.

'Personally, during my time here, I hope to get more wins and get more points on the board for Bolton,' he told Wanderers' official site. 'I have really enjoyed my time here so far. I have been really impressed by the club as a whole. They are a great group of lads and I have really enjoyed playing here.

'Coming to Blackburn, the local derby, and putting on a performance like that and getting the win was fantastic. With the kind of players we have, we should be right up there. We are confident that we can put on this kind of performance and get a real good winning run and move up the league. I am sure that by the end of the year we will be right up there.'

Trotters' boss Freedman would be interested in a potential loan extension for the talented playmaker, but admits Norwich counterpart Chris Hughton calls the shots.

'That's entirely up to Norwich,' he said. 'The deal was a month and the ball is right in their court now as to what they want to do. The deal was a month to give him some games, and the more he has, the better he will get, I'm sure. But it's in their hands now as to what happens from here. He's been training very hard and I think Jacob is a young man who's got a terrific career ahead of him, provided he applies himself properly. Like I say, the more games and game time he gets, the better he will become.'
