Michael Laudrup believes a sluggish end to Swansea's Premier League campaign would take the shine off their Capital One Cup Wembley win.

The Dane watched his side pick up their first point since beating Bradford to lift the club's first domestic trophy and a passport to the Europa League, but Laudrup wants more over the closing weeks.

'I would be disappointed if we are sitting here on May 19 and we are sitting in 15th place. I would be very, very disappointed with the Premier League season,' he said. 'The cup will always remain there and that is what our season will be remembered for but I want us to have a good Premier League season.

'If we win two more games I think we'll be in the top ten. I think you have to make your plans as a club for the future, but the players must keep their focus on this season. It is not always easy after winning a trophy and getting those 40 points.

'We don't have that need for points knowing otherwise we could go down. I said to the players we had to learn from these games for the future; to get that intensity every time.

'There is a difference between a team who wants to win and who would like to win. Norwich really wanted to win because they had 34 points so I said we had to go out and match them otherwise we will lose again in this game.'

Laudrup accentuated the positives despite dominating possession for long spells and first half scorer Michu misfiring after the interval.

'Ending the losses, for sure, is a big thing,' he said. 'If you ask me, 'Am I satisfied with one point or should we have got three?' then that is harder to answer. I think in different moments of the game we dominated, like the first 30 minutes. We were 1-0 up and we should have been more. Out of nothing we allowed Norwich back in the game. They only had one or two chances. We started well in the second half and then found ourselves 2-1 down due to bad marking on a set piece. We knew that was very important for Norwich. We could have done much better and then we had 10 or 15 minutes when we made some mistakes and they could have scored a third goal and it would have been the end of the story. That could have cost us dearly. We showed a lot of character to come back and score a second goal and Michu had some chances, especially the one at the end. It is a little difficult for me. Yeah, we could have won but after being 2-1 down we had 10 or 15 minutes where we could have lost the game.'

Laudrup insisted Swansea's resolve to hit back for a point underlined their ability to produce away from the Liberty Stadium.

'If you take the majority of the teams they know most of the points must come at home,' he said. 'We have four (away) wins all season and if anybody had talked about that they would have said it was okay. The only game we were blown away was Anfield.'
