The January transfer window will close at 11pm with Norwich City having been part of no deadline-day deals.
Hopes were high that Chris Hughton may add to his Canaries' squad while speculation grew throughout the day that wantaway playmaker Wes Hoolahan would definitely be leaving the club.
However, after rumours had circulated for hours, the club's official Twitter feed finally ended the speculation by posting a simple message at about 10pm which read: 'The Club can confirm we do not expect to complete any further deals, in or out, this transfer window'.
Aston Villa, West Brom and Newcastle were all thought to be keen on Hoolahan – who had a transfer request rejected by Carrow Road chiefs this month – while Luciano Becchio looked likely to be leaving the club on loan. But both will be forced to stay in Norfolk.
There was a snippet of deadline-day news involving the Yellows though as under-21s striker Jamar Loza extend his loan spell at Leyton Orient until March 8. So it leaves City preparing to face a much-strengthened Cardiff City tomorrow with only loanees Jonas Gutierrez and Joseph Yobo joining their ranks since the window opened at the start of the year.
