Chris Hughton is urging Norwich's support to help drag the Canaries over the line in the battle for Premier League survival.

Norwich have earned 24 of their 32 points at Carrow Road this season in marked contrast to a wretched run on the road which continued with a sixth top flight away defeat in 2014 at Swansea. Only Cardiff have picked up fewer away points and Hughton is acutely aware Norwich's hopes hinge on their consistent home form.

'We have been very good at home and we are going to need to be to get the job done,' said Hughton. 'We have shown at Carrow Road we are capable of getting points. It is not a position we want to be in where we manage to get results and raise our performances but away from home we find it very difficult.

'It is one we have to address. You look at the better days on the road and the wins at Stoke and West Brom are the levels we need to get closer to. The obvious reason why that is the case is probably the same one that applies to most of the division. Look at Stoke, who I feel are a very good side, and their away win at Aston Villa was only their second away from home. There is a group of clubs who will find it harder away, but we can't keep putting the pressure on the home games, we need to start doing ourselves a favour to relieve some of that pressure.'

Hughton insists there will be plenty of twists and turns over the run-in with the likes of Crystal Palace shocking Chelsea and Sunderland running title contenders Liverpool close at Anfield just over the past week.

'I don't think you can afford to feel you are safe until it is mathematically secured,' he said. 'We saw a Sunderland team go to Liverpool who are in good form and ran them close and Liverpool is as good as anybody at present so that tells you how tight and how competitive the Premier League is. I expect it to be as competitive right through until the end and we have to accumulate as many as we can. A lot has been spoken about our last four games, but not here at the club.
