Neil Adams has warned his Championship promotion hopefuls to keep looking over their shoulders.

The Canaries' have a squad the envy of their league rivals and Adams is prepared to use it to the full in order to maintain City's winning start to the new campaign.

'What I have said is I won't be afraid to change a winning team because if I feel we have to set up a certain way to win a game then we'll do it,' he said. 'That doesn't mean players have been dropped, it means we have tinkered with the tactical side. You could mention Javi Garrido and Steven Whittaker at Cardiff the other day; they didn't start and they had done nothing wrong. We change it again at Brentford and we got the result. We'll win this league as a group, not as 11 players.

'I played in two Championship-winning teams at Everton and at Oldham and you want to get a situation where players are desperate to get in the team because that means the side is doing well.

'If you flip that and it is relatively easy to pick a side then those teams tend not to be doing as well.'

Summer signing Cameron Jerome struck a brace in the 3-0 midweek win over the Bees to take his tally to four goals in four games after earning a start following his influential second half cameo at Cardiff.

'His performance at Cardiff got him into the team and he scored two fabulous goals,' said Adams. 'The first was from an excellent Whittaker cross and the second he smashed right into the top corner. I don't know how fast it was travelling but that was right in the corner and no keeper could save that. That is all he can do. We said a few weeks ago it was important to make sure not all the onus was on Lewis (Grabban) to score the goals. Bradley (Johnson) has scored a couple, Tetts (Alex Tettey) the same and Michael Turner and Martin Olsson scored at the weekend so it is nice to see that.'
