Former Norwich City midfielder David Fox has re-joined League One Colchester United on a three-month deal.
Fox had been training with the Us in the past few days after a similar stint at Preston following his release from Carrow Road at the end of last season. The former Manchester United midifelder has impressed during a short trial and has signed a deal until the middle of January.
'David adds experience to a young squad,' Colchester manager Tony Humes told the club's official site. 'He fits our profile of how we want to play the game, and he will be a good addition to the squad for the coming months.'
Fox is unlikely to be invovled in Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie against Gillingham but could make his debut in Saturday's League One home game against Fleetwood - subject to paperwork clearance by the relevant authorities.
Fox scored three goals in 21 appearances during his first stint at Colchester under Paul Lambert era, making his debut in the 7-1 League One win at Norwich City in August, 2009. The 30-year-old moved onto Norfolk to work with Lambert again where he made 62 league appearances for the Canaries during a four-year stint which saw him earn Championship promotion and play in the Premier League.
