Norwich City midfielder Bradley Johnson lost out to Ipswich's 17-goal striker Daryl Murphy in the Championship player-of-the-month running for Decemeber.
Murphy beat off competition from Johnson, who scored five goals from midfield in the thumping league wins over Huddersfield and Millwall as well as a late consolation at Reading in a 2-1 defeat, along with Bolton goalkeeper Andy Lonergan and Bournemouth's goalscoring midfielder Harry Arter.
'Murph is in a rich vein of form and deserves all the accolades he is getting,' said Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy. 'He has worked very hard on the training ground with Terry Connor and we are all reaping the benefits.'
Norwich head to Bournemouth this weekend to face Eddie Howe, who was named Championship manager-of-the-month for December after guiding the Cherries to top spot. City travel to the south coast 11 points behind the leaders.
