Norwich City may have let two points slip through their fingers at struggling Wigan, but Nelson Oliveira is convinced they remain on track to make the play-offs come May.
A topsy-turvy game should have been in City's pocket after a comfortable first half lead thanks to Oliveira's
ninth goal of the campaign, on his return to starting duties following his red card at Rotherham last month.
Instead, they needed a first City goal from Mitchell Dijks to ensure they remained unbeaten away from Carrow Road for back-to-back Championship road trips.
'I think now we are in a better run,' said Oliveira, as City blew a big chance to return to the Championship top six.
'We are more compact. We look good. We look like we will get into the play-offs and I'm 100pc sure we will get there. We only need to continue with this attitude together because this is important to get to the play-offs. And if we stay like this, we will achieve our goals.
'There is disappointment because we should win, but it's a good point. We've taken four points in four days and we need to focus on the next game now. If we win against Forest, this is a good run – four wins and one draw is good.
'Maybe we should've scored one more in the first half, but we didn't and in the second half we dropped (our level) a little bit. We conceded two goals but after that we reacted well and scored a second goal ourselves – and I think we created more opportunities to score a third one.
'Unfortunately we didn't get it and that is a bit frustrating, but this is still a good point.'
With City boss Alex Neil switching to 4-4-2, last night was a rare chance for Oliveira and Cameron Jerome to start together.
Oliveira added: 'I feel good; I think me and Cam are different players but we can work well together because he has his qualities and I have my qualities, and I think we worked well together.
'We didn't win tonight unfortunately, but I like playing with Cam.'
City remain two points adrift of Sheffield Wednesday, who sit in sixth. The Owls now have a game in hand on Norwich, while the rest of the promotion chasers have a healthy points advantage.
